  • Every time I go inside the box…I like what I see. But it is definitely outside the box I feel like myself.

  • Not a bite wound I’m told

My cat has acne …and a heart murmur.

  • I love the Monon Trail. It is perhaps one of Indy’s finest offerings. Oftentimes, I ride my bike on it to get to work. But if one more assbag ignores the blinking yellow light, cross lines and the pedestrian’s right-of-way and screams obscenities at me while nearly missing me… I’m gonna lose my freakin’ mind. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    OK… breathe…I’m fine.

Now for the often joyful pleasure of taking my cat Pasquale to the vet because of…….drumroll please………..he got in to a fight and needs antibiotics for his bite wounds before they become abscessed. (Tell me, don’t you think abscess and boil are two of the most yuckiest words in the English language? OR do you know a more disgusting one?)

  • I’ve been away so long… I kind of forgot how to do this. I’m thinking they moved a few things around. Sorry for my absence… it’s just  that… I’m tired of writing about myself. It’s been feeling a bit self-indulgent. I guess I’m just not that in to me anymore. Let’s see. New stuff.

:: Been to Miami. Stayed at the TownHouse. Tres zen. Seriously, a very very nice place. And according to their website…a bargain (I’ve stayed in hotels in NY for 1/2 the price, but this place had a clean crisp breezy vibe that I’ve never seen in NY.)

    Highlights:

Spending quality time with my old friend Linda after a 15 year disconnect. Priceless

Sharing my days (and nights) with a handsome, fun, intelligent, creative, extremely sweet man who possessed a lit from within beauty. (hmmmmm, how many adjectives are you allowed to use in one sentence.)

Snorkeling and kayaking in Key West. Ernest’s six-toed cats were a special treat.

Drinking a bottle or two of wine in a somewhat secluded space (see profile pic) while watching an  an illuminating pink gold sunset.

:: On a sad note my mom had a terrible stroke. Man, what a trooper. She’s hanging in there. I fly out to see her this Friday. I told her she can anything her heart desires because she is Queen Lillian… she said I was her angel.

:: Eva (my white cat) had another run in with that same damn feral cat that did this to her last December. This time she ended up in the hospital for several days. She’s back and doing ok. I spoke with a neighbor and this bully actually killed her cat. I called animal control and it looks like I have to trap the freaken’ critter myself if I want to get rid of it. Animal control won’t come out because “It’s hard to get a cat in a cage”. Sure, so send me… a rookie. No problem. That should turn out ok. My friend from work is bringing me a humane trapping cage. Let’s hope I don’t accidently snare Pasquale. He’s the looks… not the brains of the household.

    Until then…ciao!

  • Yes!

Marjorie Scardino, CEO of Pearson, top international publisher of educational textbooks, got a round of applause today when she said in our town hall meeting that she intends to keep the intellectual integrity of Pearson’s history books intact, irregardless, of the financial blowback. Which means Texas conservatives rewriting history will have to live with Thomas Jefferson not moving over for Newt or Rush’s rendition.
